5.3.1. Check of shock-absorbers at the stand

For definition of operability of the shock-absorber check its working chart at the dynamometer stand.
Working charts remove according to the instruction attached to the stand after performance not less than 5 running cycles, at a temperature of working liquid of the shock-absorber of 20±5 °C, frequency of rotation of a flywheel of 60 min.-1 and length of the course of a rod of 80 mm for the forward shock-absorber and 100 mm — for back.

The curve of the chart (fig. 5-33) has to be smooth, and in transition points (from the return course to the compression course) — without sites parallel to the zero line.
Assessment of results on the chart. 
Resistance of the course of return and compression is determined by the greatest ordinates of the corresponding charts.
The highest point of a curve of the course of return at the scale of 47 N (4,8 kgfs) on 1 mm has to be from the zero line at distance And, equal: 21–28 mm for forward shock-absorbers, 19–26 mm for back shock-absorbers.
The highest point of a curve of the course of compression at the same scale has to be from the zero line at distance In, equal: 3,5–6,5 mm for forward shock-absorbers; 4,5–7,5 mm — for back.
Control values of ordinates on charts of forward and back shock-absorbers are set for cold shock-absorbers at a temperature of damping liquid of 20±5 °C.
After check remove the shock-absorber from the stand and if necessary touch and replace the damaged details.
Repeat test to make sure of serviceability of the shock-absorber.
