Establish forward wheels in provision of the rectilinear movement and, turning a steering wheel in that and other party, check whether the distance between an end face of a case of 7 (fig. 6-2) and the tag "In" put on a shaft of a worm of the steering mechanism changes.
Change of distance is a gap sign in bearings of a worm.
For adjustment of a gap in bearings of a worm, having turned a steering wheel to the left side on 1–1,5 turns, turn off bolts of fastening of the lower cover 19 and merge oil from a case of the steering mechanism. Remove the lower cover, remove one of adjusting laying 18 or replace it with thinner.

       NOTE
Adjusting laying is delivered in spare parts 0,10 and 0,15 mm thick.

Having fixed the lower cover, again check whether there is no axial movement of a worm in bearings. In the absence of movement fill in 0,215 l of TAD-17i gearbox oil in a case of the steering mechanism.
Check effort of turn of a steering wheel, having established forward wheels on a smooth plate. It should not exceed 196 N (20 kgfs).
