Dismantling. Merge oil from a case of the steering mechanism. Fix a case on an arm of A.74076/R with the A.74076/1 support.

Having turned off a nut of fastening of a steering bipod of 2 (fig. 6-6) and having removed a spring washer, a stripper of A.47043 remove a bipod (fig. 6-5). Having turned off fastening bolts, uncover 12 (see fig. 6-6) a case of the steering mechanism together with the adjusting screw 8, an adjusting plate 9, a lock washer 10 and a lock-nut. Take out from a case of 1 steering mechanism a shaft of the 7th bipod assembled with a roller.
Having turned off fastening bolts, uncover 3 persistent bearings of a shaft of a worm together with adjusting laying 4.
Shaft of the 11th worm push out a ring of the 5th bearing from a case and take out a shaft together with separators of 6 bearings. Remove an epiploon of the 15th shaft of a worm and an epiploon of the 16th shaft of a bipod.

After installation of a worm in a case of the steering mechanism and fixing of the lower cover check a dynamometer 02.7812.9501 with a head And. A.95697/5 (see fig. 6-9) the moment of friction of a shaft of a worm; it has to be in limits of 19,6-49 N · cm (2–5 kgfs · cm). If the moment appears less specified, reduce thickness of adjusting laying of 2 (fig. 6-8) if more — increase.

After installation of a shaft of a bipod check lack of a gap in gearing of a roller with a worm in provisions of a shaft of the worm turned to the right and to the left on 30 ° from the neutral provision of a bipod. A possible gap in gearing eliminate with the adjusting screw 2 cm (fig. 6-2) and tighten a lock-nut 3.
After adjustment of a gap in gearing of a roller and a worm check a dynamometer the moment of friction of a shaft of a worm which has to be equal to 68,6-88,2 N · to cm (7–9 kgfs · to cm) at turn of a shaft of a worm on 30 ° both to the left, and to the right from average situation smoothly about 49 N · cm also have to decrease (5 kgfs · cm) at turn from a corner 30 ° against the stop.
Upon termination of assembly check bipod angles of rotation from neutral situation which have to sostavlyat32 °10 '±1 ° both to the left, and to the right against the stop bipods in heads of bolts. Fill in 0,215 l of TAD-17i gearbox oil in a case of the steering mechanism.
