Since 1988 on the VAZ-2107 cars the three-phase generator of alternating current of type 37.3701 (fig. 8-4) with the built-in vypryamitelny block and the microelectronic regulator of tension is used. On small lots of cars of VAZ-2107 generators of production of Bulgaria, Slovenia or Germany can be installed. These generators are interchanged with the generator 37.3701 according to characteristics and the adjusting sizes, but differ on a design a little.

The scheme of connections of the generator 37.3701 is given in fig. 8-5. Tension for excitement of the generator at inclusion of ignition is brought to the regulator plug "B" through a control lamp 11. After start of the engine the winding of excitement eats from three additional diodes 3 installed on the vypryamitelny block. At the same time current does not pass through a control lamp, and it does not burn. The operating tension moves on a conclusion of "B" of the regulator directly from the generator 30 plug. Conclusion "Ш" of the regulator of marking has no. The brush 13 connects to it (see fig. 8-6). Tension in onboard network of the car is controlled by the voltmeter 12 (see fig. 8-5).
Since 1996 at the generator 37.3701 the device of the regulator of tension and the brush holder is changed. Now the regulator of tension is placed in the metal case and приклепан to the brush holder (see a fragment "and" in fig. 8-4), i.e. forms with it non-demountable knot. The new regulator of tension has no conclusion of "B" and tension moves only to a conclusion "In". According to the characteristics former and new regulators of tension are identical and assembled with the brush holder are interchanged.


PREVENTIONS
"Minus" of the rechargeable battery always has to connect to weight, and "plus" — to be connected to a clip "30" generators. Wrong return turning on of the battery will immediately cause the raised current via diodes of the vypryamitelny block of the generator, and they will be damaged.
Operation of the generator with the disconnected rechargeable battery is not allowed. It causes emergence of impulses of the increased tension on a clip "30" generators which can damage the regulator of tension of the generator and electronic devices in onboard network of the car.
Check of operability of the generator "on a spark" even by short-term connection of a clip "30" generators with a weight is forbidden. At the same time via diodes considerable current proceeds and they are damaged. It is possible to check the generator only by means of the ampermeter and the voltmeter.
Diodes of the vypryamitelny block of the generator are not allowed to be checked more than 12 V or the megohm meter as it has tension, too high for diodes, and they when checking will be punched (there will be a short circuit).

PREVENTIONS
Check of an electrical wiring of the car is forbidden by the megohm meter or the lamp fed more than 12 V. If such check is necessary, then previously it is necessary to disconnect wires from the generator.
It is necessary to check resistance of isolation of a winding of the stator the increased tension only at the stand and it is obligatory with the conclusions of phase windings disconnected from the vypryamitelny block.
At electric welding of knots and details of a body of the car it is necessary to disconnect wires from all plugs of the generator and the rechargeable battery.

Till 1988 the G-222 generator was used. It differed from the generator in 37.3701 data of windings of a rotor and the stator, the regulator of tension and brush knot, and also a design of the vypryamitelny block. The scheme of connections of the G-222 generator is shown in fig. 8-6. At the beginning of release of the VAZ-2107 cars the relay 9 of a control lamp 11 was installed. In 1985 it was cancelled, and the wires attached to the relay and a control lamp were removed from plaits of wires. Tension developed by the generator was controlled only by the voltmeter 12.
