8.5.3.1. Ignition distributor

Before installation of the distributor of ignition check a condition of contacts of the breaker for the stand whether jams on an axis a rychazhok with mobile contact, and effort of pressing of contacts which has to be 4,9–5,88 N (500–600 гс).
Check wear of a textolite block a breaker rychazhka. In case of wear establish the required gap between contacts of the breaker. If the rychazhok jams on an axis or its spring weakened, replace contact group.
If contacts of the breaker are polluted, burned or erosion underwent, then smooth out them a velvet file. It is impossible to apply a grinding skin and other abrasive materials to this purpose.
After cleaning wipe contacts of the breaker with the suede moistened in gasoline. Then delay a rychazhok that gasoline evaporated, and wipe contacts once again with dry suede. Instead of suede it is possible to apply any material which is not leaving fibers.

PREVENTION
On cars with contactless system of ignition the sensor distributor of ignition of 38.3706 (fig. 8-23) is used

Contacts have to adjoin all surface. If it does not occur, then turning in a rack arm, adjust the provision of motionless contact. It is impossible to turn in a rychazhok with mobile contact.
Wipe an ignition distributor cover from dirt and oil.
Having slightly raised an ignition distributor cover, check whether there is a contact of a rotor against a cover electrode at the time of disconnection of contacts of the breaker.
Work check. Install the ignition distributor (or the sensor distributor) on the control test bench for check of devices of ignition and connect it to the electric motor which frequency of rotation is regulated.
Execute connections with the ignition coil, with the rechargeable battery and with the switchboard (for the sensor distributor 38.3706) similar to the scheme of system of ignition. Connect four plugs on a cover at the stand to spark rated sportsmen which gap between electrodes is regulated.
Establish a gap of 5 mm between electrodes of rated sportsmen, turn on the electric motor of the stand and rotate the ignition distributor roller several minutes clockwise with a frequency of 2000 min.-1. Then increase a gap between electrodes to 10 mm and you watch whether there are no internal categories in the distributor. They come to light on a sound or on easing and interruption of sparking on a rated sportsman of the test bench.
In operating time the distributor of ignition should not make considerable noise with any frequency of rotation of the roller.

Removal of the characteristic of an automatic advancing of ignition. Install the ignition distributor (or the sensor distributor) on the stand and execute electric connections according to the instruction on the stand. For the sensor distributor of ignition 38.3706 execute connections according to the scheme in fig. 8-24. Establish a gap of 7 mm between rated sportsman electrodes.
Turn on the electric motor of the stand and rotate the ignition distributor roller with a frequency of 150-200 min.-1. On the graduated disk of the stand note value in degrees at which one of four sparking is observed.

Increasing in steps rotation frequency for 200–300 min.-1, determine the number of degrees of an advancing of ignition corresponding to each frequency of rotation of the roller of the distributor of ignition by a disk. Compare the received characteristic of the centrifugal regulator of an advancing of ignition with the characteristic in fig. 8-25, and.
Check of a corner of the closed condition of contacts. Turn on the electric motor of the stand and finish the frequency of rotation of the roller of the distributor of ignition up to 1000 min.-1.
On the lit sites of a scale measure the size of a corner of the closed condition of contacts which has to be 55 ° ±3 °. Then check corners between the moments of disconnection of contacts on cylinders concerning the first (asynchronism) which should not differ from nominal more than on ±1 °.
Removal of the characteristic of the vacuum regulator of an advancing of ignition. Connect a hose the vacuum regulator of the distributor of ignition to the vacuum pump of the stand. Turn on the electric motor of the stand and rotate the ignition distributor roller with a frequency of 1000 min.-1. On the graduated disk establish conditional "zero" on the sparking moment in any of cylinders.

Check of resistance of isolation. Isolation resistance between high-voltage plugs and weight is checked by the megohm meter and there have to be not less than 10 megohms at (25±5) °C. Resistance between the low-voltage plug of the breaker and weight has to be same. It is measured at the opened contacts of the breaker.
Check of the condenser. The condenser capacity measured in the frequency range between 50 and 1000 Hz has to be in limits 0,20–0,25 мкФ.
Check of the contactless sensor in the sensor distributor of ignition 38.3706. From an exit of the sensor stress is removed if in its gap there is a steel screen. If there is no screen in a gap, then tension at the exit of the sensor is close to zero.

On the car the sensor can be checked according to the scheme provided on fig. 8-26, and. Between the plug socket of the sensor distributor of ignition and the socket of a plait of wires the socket 2 with the voltmeter is connected transitional. Include ignition and, slowly turning a special key 67.7811.9508 bent shaft, the voltmeter check tension at the sensor exit. It has to change sharply from minimum — no more than 0,4 In, to maximum — no more, than on 3 V of smaller supply voltage.
On the ignition sensor distributor removed from the engine the sensor can be checked according to the scheme for fig. 8-26, (at the supply voltage of 8-14 V). Slowly rotating the ignition sensor distributor roller, measure by the voltmeter tension at the sensor exit. It has to be within stated limits.
